Hope emerging part fourThe demoness lunged at Auriel and the confrontation between two escalated into a fierce battle. Demonesses’ sinister spikes poised for attack, lunged at Auriel with deadly precision but she evaded the demonic onslaught, her power guiding her movements.Auriel used her opponent’s opening and with a swift counterattack, struck out with her swords, aiming to pierce the vulnerable spot. The demoness, however, blocked Auriel's strikes with a skill born of centuries of malice. In a deft move she disarmed one of Auriel's swords, leaving the Archangel vulnerable. But Auriel, to demon’s surprise, retaliated with a swift kick to hellspawn’s stomach, sending the demon reeling. Seizing the opportunity, Auriel soared into the air, retrieving her fallen sword just in time to block the incoming attack and push the demoness back. As the two adversaries circled each other, a tense silence filled the chamber. Auriel, her celestial light blazing with defiance, mocked Andariel with a hint of disdain. "You are lucky Imperius didn't show up," she taunted. "The way you are fighting, you wouldn't have lasted long."Demoness’ crimson eyes narrowed with malice as she returned Auriel's gaze. "Oh, and you are just as arrogant and reckless as he is." she hissed, her voice dripping with venomous spite.Auriel's lips curled into a steely smile as she fired back, hoping to frustrate the demon to gain advantage. "You will see that we have many qualities for you to dislike," she declared as she made her attack at demoness. ***Further away in deep chambers of this cursed cave Itherael felt the choking grip of despair that clouded his mind slowly wane. The oozy feeling of lethargy and hopelessness went away as his thoughts became clearer. Yet he still struggled to keep this heaviness at bay. Still, he forced himself to stand up and wondered what caused such shift in the air. He took few breaths to center himself and scan the area. He remembered, Auriel was gone. This place… now he sees… it is a den of a Lesser Evil. No, not just any Evil. The darkness, the heaviness… the Despair. Andariel. He worried, Auriel will be in danger, she won’t be prepared to face her alone, she will need help! Anxiety surged through Itherael’s being, worrying for Auriel’s safety. He quickly picked up her weapon and flew through the maws of the cave to find her as soon as possible.***Auriel stood tall, slowly getting exhausted from battle, yet her light radiated with unwavering resolve. She met demoness’ sinister gaze with a steely determination, her words laced with defiance."Your illusions are weak," Auriel declared, her voice resonating with authority. "The High Heavens are stronger than the Burning Hells, and my brothers are defeating your minions as we speak."Demoness’ lips curled into a mocking smile, a gleam of malice dancing in her eyes. "Ah, but everything is not as it seems," she whispered, her voice a sinister whisper that seemed to linger in the air like a foul miasma.Auriel's brow hardened thinking this was an attempt to damage her resolve. Her angelic wings unfurled with grace. "I am the Archangel of Hope," she proclaimed, her voice ringing with celestial power. "And once I am finished with you, I will join my brothers and sisters in destroying the Hells once and for all."Demoness’ laughter filled the chamber, a chilling echo that seemed to reverberate off the walls. "Even hope, while thirsty with blood, can be corrupted," she hissed, her words dripping with malevolence."Remember, angel, if you stare into the abyss, the abyss stares back into you."She materialized a shadowy ball and threw is swiftly at Auriel. Auriel attempted to block it but the shadow went through her blades and ensnared her neck and chest. As demoness’ launched her assault, Auriel found herself hard to keep up. She barely evaded demoness’ attacks. The demoness unleashed her formidable arsenal, her back adorned with four deadly spikes that moved with the agility of spider legs. Each spike lashed out at Auriel, threatening to pierce her heavenly form with their sinister tips. With a swift counterattack, Auriel swung her swords at her, but the demon disappeared with a mocking cackle, only to reappear behind her in the blink of an eye. Demoness struck with two of her back claws, aiming to rend Auriel's armor, but the Archangel managed to block the assault at the last moment. Their weapons clashed, locking them in a deadly embrace.Breathless and struggling to maintain her stance, Auriel demanded, "Who are you?" Her voice was strained with exertion as she fought to keep the adversary at bay. The demoness only smiled, a twisted smirk playing on her lips as she whispered her name into Auriel's ear."Andariel," she hissed, the name a chilling echo in the cavernous chamber. Before Auriel could react, Andariel unleashed her final assault, using her remaining spikes to hurl the celestial archangel against the unforgiving stone wall.As Auriel struggled to rise from the impact, Andariel extended her arms slowly walking toward her. With a menacing gleam in her eyes, she repeated her proclamation, her voice dripping with malice."I am Andariel, the Maiden of Anguish," she declared, her words resonating with the weight of her sinister presence. “The Lesser Evil. As your ilk likes to call us.” Andariel answered Auriel silence with annoyance. As Auriel struggled to rise, her celestial form felt burdened by an unseen weight, as if the very air around her had turned to lead. Andariel's mocking laughter filled the chamber, her cackle dripping with contempt for the Archangel. With a determined effort, Auriel forced herself to her feet, her celestial wings unfurling with a resolute grace. She lunged at Andariel, her celestial blades poised to strike at the demon's heart. But Andariel, with a fluid grace, effortlessly evaded Auriel's attack and retaliated with a swift strike of her own.The force of Andariel's blow sent Auriel hurtling across the chamber, her form colliding with a nearby column. Pain seared through her being as she struggled to rise, her gaze falling to her stomach where her luminous blood flowed freely.Andariel, seizing the opportunity, closed the distance between them in a blur of motion. With a cruel grin, she seized Auriel by the neck, lifting the Archangel off the ground with ease. Auriel's attempts to strike back were futile as Andariel effortlessly disarmed her, leaving her defenseless against the Maiden of Anguish's relentless assault. As Auriel gasped in pain, Andariel's cruel laughter echoed through the chamber, a sinister symphony of malice. With a sadistic grin, the Maiden of Anguish thrust her clawed fingers into Auriel's wound, eliciting a sharp cry of agony from the Archangel. Bringing her fingers to her lips, Andariel tasted Auriel's blood with a perverse delight. "Ah, now I understand," she taunted, her voice dripping with malice. "You are young, naive, inexperienced." Her laughter filled the chamber, a mocking chorus that reverberated off the walls. With a flick of her hand, Andariel released her grip on Auriel, allowing the Archangel to crumple to the ground in a heap of pain and exhaustion. But before Auriel could recover, chains materialized out of the darkness, binding her arms and body to the cold stone column.Auriel struggled against her restraints, her light flickering with defiance even in the face of overwhelming darkness. But Andariel's laughter only grew louder, a cacophony of cruelty that seemed to drown out any glimmer of hope in the chamber. Bound and vulnerable, Auriel faced the chilling reality of her captivity within the Maiden of Anguish's grasp."How mighty you were just moments ago, and now look at you, bound and helpless," Andariel jeered, her voice dripping with contempt. "Truly, the arrogance of Archangels is their downfall."Andariel picked up Auriel’s swords examining them.“The heavenly weapons.” Andariel mused unbothered by Auriel’s struggle. “The perfection incarnate, the “slayers of hellspawn”… they say that the angels weapons are the extension their own being.”She looked at Auriel with mocking empathy. “They must mean quite a lot to you.” And then, with a sudden motion, Andariel shattered the blades, snapping them in half with a cruel twist of her demonic strength. The light immediately left the swords reducing them to crude metal. Auriel's heart sank as she watched her cherished weapons crumble into pieces before her eyes. Using Auriel’s despair, Andariel rushed towards her with the broken remnants of her own sword, the Maiden of Anguish loomed over the bound archangel, her eyes gleaming with sadistic delight."You will die here," Andariel hissed, her voice laced with malice as she held the broken tip of the sword to Auriel’s throat. "And I will spare you the agony of witnessing the death of your brother. But first, I will tear your pretty shining wings from your back. One strand at the time."Auriel's heart raced with fear and despair as she stared into the face of her tormentor. Bound and helpless, the Archangel of Hope now faced her darkest hour, the echoes of Andariel's chilling words haunting her every thought. Yet, she would never beg for mercy. Not from the hellspawn. As Andariel prepared to unleash her sadistic torment upon the helpless Auriel, a sudden interruption shattered the tense silence of the chamber. Itherael materialized behind the Maiden of Anguish, his sword slicing through the air with a flash of light as he severed one of her back claws.Andariel's roar of pain and surprise echoed through the chamber, her twisted features contorted with rage. Auriel's heart soared with relief at the sight of Itherael, her brother coming to her aid in her darkest hour of need. With urgency, Itherael quickly approached Auriel, his sword struck at her chains and freed her from her bonds. As he reached out to help her rise, his arm was suddenly seized by Andariel's vise-like grip, the demonic entity refusing to let her prey escape so easily.Itherael struck Andariel in face with hilt of his sword forcing her to let go of his arm. She screamed in anger.“You insignificant worm!” She howled revealing her bloody face. “You maggot! You will pay for this!” Andariel unleashed a wave of green fire and Auriel barely had time to hide behind the column. The fire passed near her leaving only an oozy trail behind. As Auriel rose saw the horror as Andariel prepared to strike down Itherael who hadn’t been so lucky to escape the fire. He was kneeling fighting the pain. She was helpless, she didn’t know what to do. Yet, she saw as vision of rivers. Golden rivers. Calm, yet fluid and strong. A surge of determination coursed through her being. She let go of her fear an let her body do the work. With a swift and decisive motion, Auriel seized the chains that bound her to the column, her hands moving with fluid grace as she fashioned them into a makeshift weapon, wrapping them around her arms. In the blink of an eye, she lashed out at Andariel, her improvised whip striking true and finding its mark upon the demon's clawed hand.Andariel recoiled in pain and surprise, her twisted features contorted with rage as she turned to face her unexpected assailant. But Auriel, undeterred by the demonic entity's wrath, continued her assault with unwavering determination. With each lash of the chains, Auriel unleashed a flurry of elegant strikes, her movements guided by a celestial grace. She struck Andariel fast, marking her on her face, hands, stomach, thighs with numerous wounds. Andariel, now bearing the wounds of Auriel's righteous fury, howled in agony as her once-imposing form was marred by the divine onslaught.Auriel’s chains wrapped around Andariel's neck, a fierce determination burned within her, fueled by the desire to protect her brother and bring an end to the demonic threat. With each tightening grip, she felt the dark entity's struggles intensify, her grip on the demon's throat unyielding in its resolve.“Go ahead,” The demon taunted, struggling. “Seize… your little… victory. Become … like me…” As she smiled while in pain.Auriel remembered how many of her kind fell to this thing. How this thing…this darkness… this evil shouldn’t exist. How it would be best to erase it from existence. Then, there will. Be. Order. But as the room began to tremble with an ominous energy, Itherael's urgent pleas pierced through the chaos, his voice filled with concern and urgency. "Auriel, we must go," he urged, his celestial form flickering with the strain of their perilous situation. But Auriel, consumed by her righteous fury, remained steadfast in her resolve, her grip on the chains unrelenting even as Andariel fought for her breath. She could feel the demonic entity's struggles weakening, her own light burning brightly against the weakening darkness.Yet, as the chamber continued to shake with an otherworldly force, Itherael's words penetrated the chaos once more, his voice filled with a sense of urgency and concern. "Auriel, we cannot stay here!" he pleaded.Reluctantly, Auriel heeded her brother's words, her grip on the chains loosening as she reluctantly released her hold on Andariel. With a final glance at Andariel as she holding her throat disappeared into the shadows, she turned to her brother, her wings unfurling as they prepared to make their escape from the dark chambers that had ensnared them.Together, Auriel and Itherael fled the chamber evading the dropping sharp rocks, their light guiding them through the shadowy depths of the demonic stronghold. The entire caves were crumbling down threatening to crush them beneath the stone. They flew through the caves until they saw a faint light, and without thinking they rushed toward the crack and slashed at it with their weapons opening the way out. Just as they flew out of the caves and were safe outside, the crack was buried underneath the rubble as the part of the keep crumbled down....
